Thornton is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 2,708 at the 2020 census, up from 2,490 at the 2010 census. Thornton was incorporated on July 6, 1763, and named for Doctor Matthew Thornton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
