The victory is Palou’s fifth in six races in 2025 and the Barcelona native is the first Spanish driver to win the Indy 500. After winning the 2023 and 2024 IndyCar titles, Palou is even better in 2025. The only race of the season he didn’t win was the Long Beach Grand Prix. And Palou was second to Kyle Kirkwood in that event.

It may be the first full season of running hybrid engines, but Alex Palou has won five out of six IndyCar races so far, while Honda has won them all—including the iconic Indy 500.

Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing continued their winning ways in 2025 by racing to victory in the Indy 500, marking Palou’s first career oval win. The remarkable Palou became the first driver since A.J. Foyt in 1979 to win five of the season’s first six races, and he has claimed three of the last four championships, including two in a row.
