Disney’s new live-action film, “Lilo & Stitch,” is coming to theaters this Friday, May 23.

The new film does recreate some classic scenes, such as Lilo's feeding sandwiches to the fish and her love of Elvis records.

But for Lilo, a desperately lonely girl still grieving the loss of her parents, Stitch quickly becomes “ohana,” i.e. family, i.e. “nobody gets left behind.”
