Fifteen-time NBA All Star Kevin Durant is expected to be on the move from the Phoenix Suns this offseason. As a result, Durant's business manager, Boardroom CEO Rich Kleiman, and the Suns have begun to sort through potential trade scenarios over the past week,
Logic dictates that as a player gets older, his body is more inclined to break down, and that's regardless of how well anyone takes care of himself — LeBron James excluded, as we're getting awfully close to deeming him an actual alien. (Although, nagging injuries do appear to be finally creeping in for LeBron.)
This will be at least the Heat’s fourth pursuit of Durant during the past decade. Miami tried to land him in 2016 free agency, then tried to acquire him in 2022 (when he requested a trade from Brooklyn; he wasn’t traded until eight months later, to Phoenix) and then made an offer for him before this past February’s trade deadline.
He averaged 26.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game last season, shooting 43% from beyond the arc. There are more than a few playoff teams he can help, but he's going to want a massive two-year extension off of the $54.
