There aren't many players to have donned a Pittsburgh Pirates uniform whose on-the-field accomplishments can match that of the illustrious Roberto Clemente. 17-year big leaguer Andrew McCutchen can now say he’s one of the select few.

Clemente — a Baseball Hall of Famer — played for the Pirates from 1955-72. During this span, Pittsburgh won two World Series titles. When he won the 1971 World Series MVP, the former right fielder slashed .414/.452/.759 in seven games against the Baltimore Orioles, lifting the Pirates to the title.

PITTSBURGH — Paul Skenes again pitched into the eighth for Pittsburgh before Andrew McCutchen came through with a go-ahead single that inning, helping the Pirates complete a three-game sweep of the Phillies with a 2-1 win Sunday.
