The Rockies played one of their more solid games of a rickety season, got an excellent start from German Marquez, and four stellar innings from their bullpen. But they fell, 4-3, to the Cubs in 11 innings at chilly Wrigley Field and extended the worst start in MLB’s modern era to 9-46. The Cubs stole the game — literally.

After Tuesday's loss, Colorado's record slipped to 9–46, and they're already 25 games out of the lead in the National League West. They're still seeking their 10th win of the season, and at this point, they'll just hope to have secured it by the time the calendar turns to June.

In the fourth, the Rockies got on the board. Jordan Beck was hit by a pitch and promptly stole second, his seventh stolen base of the season. A Ryan McMahon single brought him in to score followed by a Brenton Doyle walk and a Mickey Moniak bunt to load the bases.

By dropping Tuesday's showdown with the Cubs, the Rockies made history by locking in their 21st consecutive series loss dating back to last season.
