As a heat wave hits multiple U.S. states, some areas are have been placed under extreme heat watches and warnings.

We're hitting peak heat wave today, with a handful of Michigan counties forecast to be the hottest places in the state.

Much of the Midstate is under an Extreme Heat Warning, a first for the region. Sort of. The National Weather Service at State College issued two separate Extreme Heat Warnings covering most of our area — one for Mifflin and Juniata counties,
