Cleveland Guardians shortstop Gabriel Arias sustained an ankle injury in the third inning of a game Sunday, June 29 against St. Louis Cardinals.

Cleveland Guardians shortstop Gabriel Arias was taken off the field on a cart after sustaining a left ankle sprain in the third inning against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Arias slid to a stop in shallow left field trying to field the grounder off Winn’s bat with one out. As the ball ticked off his glove, Arias rolled over and grabbed for his left ankle. Replay showed Arias’ cleat getting caught in the turf as his leg bent back awkwardly.
