Inside a Will County courtroom Wednesday, the ex-wife of a man accused of murder testified for the prosecution.

Joseph Czuba, 73, is accused of fatally stabbing the 6-year-old and wounding the boy’s mother, who were his tenants, after the Israel-Hamas war started in 2023.

Authorities allege that Czuba targeted Hanan Shaheen and her 6-year-old son, Wadee Alfayoumi, because of their Islamic faith.
