While Juan Soto may be the highest paid player on the team, statistics show that Francisco Lindor has been the Mets' most valuable player this season.

Francisco Lindor was named the starting shortstop for the National League on Wednesday, being named to his fifth All-Star team and becoming the first Mets shortstop to start the Midsummer Classic

Lindor was the only Met announced as a starter. Freddie Freeman beat out Pete Alonso at first base (61 percent to 39), and Juan Soto finished fifth among outfielders. Ronald Acuña Jr., former Mets prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker will start in the outfield for the National League.
