A derecho is "likely," according to the Storm Prediction Center — and top meteorologists are warning that wind gusts could reach 100 mph along its path through Minnesota.

MINNEAPOLIS — A derecho is possible across the Dakotas and central and southern Minnesota about midday Monday into Monday night, bringing a significant wind threat. Wind gusts over 75 mph are possible, along with heavy rain and embedded tornadoes within the line.
