Center Joel Eriksson Ek, one of the team's best forwards, suffered a serious injury in practice on Monday, according to The Athletic 's Michael Russo. He's been placed on injured reserve, which means he has to miss at least the next four games, but Russo says he hears the absence is going to be "a lot longer" than that.

The Minnesota Wild just can’t catch a break on the injury front this season. The team has played without captain Jared Spurgeon and without superstar Kirill Kaprizov for the majority of the season at this point,
