Newark Airport's runway construction project, along with air traffic control staffing​ and equipment outages​, led to problems that plagued passengers for weeks​.

Crews worked day and night to complete the $121 million construction project 13 days ahead of schedule and ease some of the problems at the Newark airport.

Additional temporary and weekend closures may be introduced later this year as further work is completed at the airport.
