The I-84 eastbound rest area in Southington by exit 27 was closed for the investigation, where state police said they found the vehicle involved. The suspect is still on the run. At one point - before the suspect vehicle was found - the vehicle hit a state police cruiser. The trooper inside was not hurt.

One driver reported that Robert Misericordia pulled up next to him, rolled down his window, and stuck up his middle finger while yelling, “I’ll [expletive] kill you,” according to a police report.

Robert Misericordia, of Hartford, was arrested after he was involved in multiple road rage incidents in Waterbury and then fled from authorities, police said.
