More and more, golf commentators and fellow PGA Tour pros are calling Scottie Scheffler "inevitable." The World No. 1 did nothing to quash those rumors Sunday. It took longer than expected to complete his comeback win at the second-to-last tournament of the season,
Scottie Scheffler completed his second-largest comeback of his career to win the BMW Championship, overtaking leader Robert MacIntyre, with a 15-under finish.
Despite the frustration, MacIntyre had a window back into the tournament after Scheffler three-putted the 14th and the Scot birdied the 16th to get within one. That’s when Scheffler pulled off his magic at the 17, and MacIntyre’s hopes were dashed.
Harry Hall rocketed from 45th to 26th with a clutch birdie on 17 and a strong sixth-place finish. Rickie Fowler, looking strong for most of the final round, succumbed to a double bogey late and was knocked just outside the top 30 despite tying for seventh.
