Down 29.4% in the first two-and-a-half weeks of the New Year, SoundHound AI (Nasdaq: SOUN) stock is off to a rocky start in 2025. One thing you cannot say about SoundHound stock though, is that it’s been boring ride.

Shares of voice artificial intelligence (AI) solutions provider SoundHound AI (SOUN) have dropped 30% in the year-to-date. Further, SOUN stock has lost 48.8% of its value from its 52-week high of $24.

Both SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) and GitLab (NASDAQ: GTLB) are two mid-cap stocks that have shown some solid early success in AI. While they are different, SoundHound and GitLab are both software platforms using AI to grow their businesses.
