In the first tangible inroads Elon Musk has sought for years in India, Starlink passed a final regulatory hurdle and Tesla opened its first India store.

Tesla has been actively recruiting for its India operations, with job postings across roles in sales, customer service, operations, and even Autopilot testing in cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Although not manufacturing in the country at the moment, the company is set to open its first showroom in Mumbai on July 15. Called an "experience centre", the Tesla showroom in the financial capital is situated in a 4,000 square feet retail space, which is closer to US tech giant Apple's flagship store in the city.
