Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel talked with the Dolphins about the team’s back up quarterback role, the two told the Miami Herald. Both reportedly had good conversations yet, as has been previously written, the decision to actually draft Tagovailoa’s backup rather than sign a veteran free agent is questionable to say the least.

The Dolphins already have a former Alabama football QB leading their squad in Tua Tagovailoa. They aren't in need of a new starter, but they have talked to Jalen Milroe about him potentially being a backup in Miami. The conversations have reportedly been successful.

C. Isaiah Smalls of The Miami Herald caught up with Milroe Wednesday at the Senior Bowl. Apparently, there have been discussions between Milroe and the Miami Dolphins about potentially being next season’s backup quarterback. Another Alabama product is currently Miami’s starter in Tua Tagovailoa.

The Miami Dolphins are looking to get over the hurdle next season with Tua Tagovailoa as their starting QB, but they are keeping there options open at the position with the draft coming up.
