A 16-year-old boy shot five people in a confrontation between two groups at a carnival in a Salt Lake City suburb, killing three of them including an 8-month-old infant, police said.

Five people were shot — three of them fatally — at an annual carnival outside Salt Lake City, Utah, authorities said. One of those killed was an infant, police said.

The shooting happened on the final night of WestFest, a celebration of the multiple cultures in West Valley City.
