The Washington Wizards began their six-game road trip in a 122-114 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night inside the Chase Center. The Wizards held strong in the first half, thanks to strong efforts from Jordan Poole,

SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole have challenged each other since the Golden State Warriors drafted Poole 28th overall in 2019. They’d see who could make more shots in a row in practice and go at it in scrimmages, friendly competition that helped bring the best in each other.

The Phoenix Suns jumped out to an early lead (up 13 at the end of the first quarter), maintained it in the second quarter, and then seemed to blow things open with a dominating third quarter. Phoenix never trailed in the game and built their lead to as much as 24 points.

The Washington Wizards head to Chase Center to face the Golden State Warriors in a non-conference matchup. The Wizards are 6-33, which puts them in dead last (15th) in the Eastern Conference. The Warriors are 20-20, which puts them in 10th place in the Western Conference.

Please send me hate mail if the Golden State Warriors lose tonight, but the Dubs are happily staring down at one of their easiest games of the season. After a difficult four-game road trip, the Warriors return home to the cushy confines of the Chase Center.
