Mumbai, March 12: Air India and Air India Express will operate a combined total of 78 scheduled and non-scheduled flights connecting India with key destinations across West Asia on March 13, as the airline group continues efforts to maintain air connectivity amid evolving regional conditions.
Carriers including IndiGo and Air India said they are coordinating with authorities to restore services while prioritising passenger safety.
Ministry of Civil Aviation said around 50 flights will be operated by Indian carriers on Monday, including special and scheduled services by Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet to help passengers amid West Asia disruptions.
Major airlines are revising flight plans and routes across West Asia. Air India and IndiGo are restoring some services while Qatar Airways operates limited flights. British Airways has suspended Abu Dhabi flights.
SINGAPORE—Singapore Airlines (SIA) said it remains “firmly committed” to supporting Air India’s transformation alongside owner Tata Sons, despite the Indian carrier continuing to weigh on SIA’s earnings.
Air India and Air India Express will operate 58 flights to and from West Asia amid ongoing regional conflicts and airspace restrictions.
On March 8, Indian carriers- including Air India, Air India Express, SpiceJet, Akasa and IndiGo- planned 49 inbound flights from airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, as well as Muscat and Jeddah.
