Girl Scout Troop 627 recently built a pollinator garden at Cherokee Elementary School in Johnson City Schools to provide a sanctuary for bees in the neighborhood.

For Cherokee Elementary School teacher Mandy Peterson, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Mandy Peterson teaches 4th grade at Cherokee.

After 30 years in education, Bales retired on Oct. 4 from Cherokee Elementary School. “This is my class, well it’s not my class anymore,” Bales said.
