Connor McDavid broke free for a clean shot on Hellebuyck in the second period, but the puck never made it into the net. Hellebuyck made the save, denying Canada its fist goal of the game and allowing USA fans to briefly exhale.

Canada was the better of the two sides across 72 minutes of action. Connor Hellebuyck didn't seem to mind that much, though.
