The National Hurricane Center’s latest forecast track as of 8AM Sunday, 9/28 now favors a scenario where the storm strengthens into a Category 1 hurricane (Imelda) by Monday night as it traces the Florida coast Monday. From there, Imelda is expected to make a sharp turn to the east heading out to sea - not making landfall anywhere in the U.S.
