Playing against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, the American League Silver Slugger at shortstop left the game with a forearm injury.

Witt immediately flung his bat after getting hit and grabbed his left wrist before taking a knee and leaving the game. Royals manager Matt Quatraro said that Witt initially lost feeling in his fingers after he was hit by the pitch, but regained feeling soon after. That gave Royals fans some optimism, but X-rays loomed.

Witt was hit by a pitch in Wednesday’s spring training game against the Seattle Mariners. In the fifth inning, Witt was struck by a 95-mph sinker from Mariners reliever Andres Munoz. The Royals immediately took Witt out of the game for further evaluation.
