Minnesota has spent this week at the NFL Combine trying to gauge the market for veteran quarterback Sam Darnold as they determine if they want to place the franchise tag on him. At this point, if the Vikings decide to use the franchise tag on Darnold, it would most likely be because they have found a willing trade partner.

Darnold led the Vikings to a playoff berth, but fell short when it really mattered against the Detroit Lions in Week 18 and the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round. So do general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell run it back with Darnold or hand the keys to J.
