The Republican-controlled house passed the resolution in a vote of 310-58, with 95 Democrats joining all 215 Republicans. There were 58 "no" votes that all came from Democrats, mostly members of the Congressional Black and Hispanic caucuses, according to news reports, 38 Democrats voted present and 22 Democrats did not vote.
The shutdown is the result of weeks of disagreements between Republicans and Democrats in Washington over funding the government. Here's the back story:
