Matthew Stafford, who was previously described by head coach Sean McVay as week to week, is dealing with an aggravated disc and the hope is he’ll be ready for the Rams’ season opener, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is already dealing with a fairly concerning injury situation. Stafford was contemplating retirement earlier this year before he decided to return to the Rams.

Stafford continues a slow build toward being ready for the season as he deals with an aggravated disc in his back.
