Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott were among a group of leaders who toured the Francis Scott Key Bridge demolition site on Wednesday.

Gov. Moore said the state has invested billions into bridge protection and maintains that every bridge in the state is up to code. Officials said construction on the new bridge will begin before the original one is completely torn down.
