At 6:10 p.m. on Monday, the NWS Wakefield VA released a flood advisory in effect until 9:15 p.m. The advisory is for Chowan, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties.

On Monday at 3:25 a.m. a flood watch was released by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC valid from 2 p.m. until Tuesday 2 a.m. The watch is for Northern Craven, Southern Craven, West Carteret, East Carteret,

The ground is saturated after nearly a month of unsettled weather. Tuesday's best rain chances will be west, but heavy rain producing thunderstorms will remain possible in the Triad in the afternoon and evening.
