A pitchers' duel broke out in the first semifinal of the LLSWS, but in the end, Indiana mustered just enough offense to top host North Carolina and advance to the championship.

The hosts have been playing the most. North Carolina has gone 3-0 thus far, pulling out a series of close wins over Brazil, Indiana and Japan. They have had to grind their way through the first week of the tournament, with just one win coming by more than one run.

Saturday, the game began at 2 p.m. at Elm Street Park, and did not end the way Pitt County Softball was hoping for after losing 2-0 to Indiana in extra innings.
