A wildfire burning in New Jersey's Wharton State Forest, named the Mines Spung Wildfire, has burned to about 5,750 acres as of Sunday, June 15.

Firefighters have contained 40% of a New Jersey wildfire that spread around 4,200 acres in the Wharton State Forest Saturday, June 14.

The Mines Spung wildfire inside Wharton State Forest in Shamong Township is around 80% contained but is still threatening some structures, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

Fire engines, helicopters and ground crews were being used to try to contain the blaze, which has been dubbed the Mines Sprung Wildfire.
