England are all set to begin their busy summer in Test cricket with a one-off four-day game against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge, starting from May 22. This is the first time both teams will square off in Tests since 2003.

England and Zimbabwe will face each other today in a Test match for the first time since 2003. However, this is a four-day fixture and the rules are different for these matches compared to the five-day Test matches.

Zimbabwe won the toss and put hosts England into bat on the opening day of the four-day test at a Trent Bridge on Thursday, with visiting captain Craig Ervine having no hesitation in deciding to bowl under cloudy skies.

A defeat to Zimbabwe, who have not played a Test against England since June 2003, would certainly dent a few egos although the tourists are 28-1 to win the four-day contest in Nottingham.

Ben Stokes has hinted he will be more cautious with his workload as he looks to make his latest injury comeback stick ahead of a huge nine months for English cricket. Stokes will lead his side out at Trent Bridge on Thursday for the start of the Test summer, with Zimbabwe the opponents for a one-off encounter.
