It has emerged that Washington Reagan Airport closed its runways on Monday evening to clear off snow from the surface and has advised passengers to check with their airlines before arriving.

In March, Reagan National Airport had over 26,000 flights in and out scheduled – noting the uptick for the area’s highly popular cherry blossom season, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
