GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A special election is being held in some West Michigan communities on Tuesday, May 6. Not everyone will have something on their ballot and some ballots may only have one item to vote on. Voters will mostly be deciding on millage and bond proposals for school districts and other organizations in their precinct.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — There's just under two weeks until Michiganders return to the polls for the Great Lakes State's May election. This special election is scheduled to take place on May 6, starting at 7 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m. If you're heading to the polls or voting absentee, here is everything you need to know about this upcoming election:
