Under pressure from President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu significantly scaled back planned retaliation against Iran's violation of a ceasefire agreement, Israeli and U.S. officials said Tuesday.

Waves of Israeli airstrikes hit two nuclear enrichment sites, multiple military bases, and military scientists and commanders. Iran replied with a barrage of missiles and drones.

The salvos of missiles fired at Israel have become less frequent, a likely sign of Tehran's weakening position. Iran could still activate its allies, notably the Houthi movement, although the Houthis have so far upheld their ceasefire with Washington.
