The BRICS group of nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) are leading a global backlash against the latest round of tariffs brought in by US President Donald Trump, with a senior Chinese envoy calling the US a “bully” and other leaders making it clear they don’t intend to back down in the growing trade war.

U.S. President Donald Trump has the so-called 'BRIC' group of nations directly in his trade war crosshairs, slapping super-high tariffs on imports from Brazil and India, and accusing them of pursuing "anti-American" policies.

China has also increasingly relied on third countries for the manufacturing of final products or components, a trend that accelerated following Donald Trump’s first trade war and his imposition of higher restrictions on the world’s second-largest economy.
