For 25 years now, the Final Destination franchise has been leaving us stressed and anxious about the twisted way death can reach us, especially those who somehow escaped some kind of catastrophic incident thanks to one of the franchise’s famously mysterious psychic visions.

This was the central conceit of “Final Destination,” a 2000 horror movie, released just past the slasher movie renaissance that began with “Scream” in 1995, that went on to have a uniquely satisfying run all its own.

“Final Destination: Bloodlines” opened in 3,523 locations riding in on a wave of strong reviews (93% on Rotten Tomatoes) and viral marketing tactics, including a picture of logs on the back of trucks — a callback to one of the more infamous “Final Destination” death traps.
