Sudden floods triggered by heavy rains have killed more than 200 people across parts of Pakistan, India-administered Kashmir and Nepal, authorities have said, as scores of people remain missing.

More than 200 people have died in flash floods triggered by heavy rains across Indian Kashmir and neighbouring Pakistan, officials said on Friday, amid fears that the death toll will continue to rise as scores of people remain missing.

Flash flooding has killed at least 224 people in India and Pakistan over the last 24 hours, according to local officials. Dozens more are missing after torrential rains struck two mountainous districts in the neighbouring countries. Some 1,600 people have been brought to safety.
