Maine Rep. Laurel Libby, a conservative Republican, has appealed to the US Supreme Court after being censured for naming a transgender athlete in a post. She argues the censure violates her constitutional rights.

The Auburn Republican said she has filed an emergency application with the nation's highest court after 2 lower courts denied temporary restoration of her voting and speaking privileges.
