According to the Lexington County Coroner, the inmate was identified as 25-year-old Morgan Daniel Kannaday of Gaston. Sheriff Jay Koon says state troopers arrested Kannaday on June 29 on a traffic, DUI, and drug charge.
The 25-year-old inmate was transported to Lexington Medical Center, where he died, according to law enforcement, prompting a SLED investigation into the matter.
