From a comedy sequel that is coming out 30 years after the first to a new superhero movie to rival 'Superman,' here are the top nine titles to watch on streaming and in theaters the weekend of July 26-27.
The last weekend of July has arrived, and with the heat cranking up, the smart move seems to be staying in with the new movies and shows to watch this weekend on Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services.
While this 1977 classic doesn't feature machine guns or explosions, Smokey and the Bandit is one of the most entertaining action movies of all time. Carrie (Sally Fields) stars as a runaway bride who jumps into the car of Bandit (Burt Reynolds), resulting in a high-speed chase.
Among the films being screened are Jack Conway’s 1935 “A Tale of Two Cities,” John Huston’s 1942 “In This Our Life,” Julien Duvivier’s 1942 “Tales of Manhattan,” William Friedkin’s 1973 “The Exorcist,” and Norman Jewison’s 1967 “In the Heat of the Night.”
