The San Francisco 49ers have one of the best tight ends of this generation in George Kittle, but even he needs someone to back him up. For the majority of Kittle's career, one of his backups has been Ross Dwelley. He joined the Atlanta Falcons last offseason, ending the six-year streak the two had together.

Former Falcons tight end Ross Dwelley won't be returning to Atlanta in 2025. According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Dwelley has signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers. The 30-year-old spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers before signing with the Falcons in free agency last offseason.

Headlining the 49ers’ draft was Mykel Williams, an edge rusher out of Georgia who was the 11th overall pick. In day two, the Niners continued to bolster their defensive line, selecting defensive tackle Alfred Collins out of Texas followed by the selection of linebacker Nick Martin out of Oklahoma State and Upton Stout out of Western Kentucky.
