The San Francisco Giants might have been beaten down by their hated rival in the second game of the series, but one player did something no Giant has ever done before.

The San Francisco Giants could be set to introduce Rafael Devers to their home fans when they open a three-game interleague series against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night.

That’s because minutes before their 4:10 p.m. PST game against the Los Angeles Dodgers — a game they would lose 5-4 — news broke that the Giants were acquiring three-time All-Star Rafael Devers from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for left-hander Kyle Harrison, right-hander Jordan Hicks, outfielder James Tibbs III and right-hander Jose Bello.

Flores has developed into a rock-solid big-league bat in the years since, but as he nears his 34th birthday, he's become more or less exclusively a first baseman and DH — and that throws his future very much into doubt with Devers coming to town.
