Cartersville police are investigating the shooting death of a teenage boy. The 14-year-old was taken to a Cartersville hospital for treatment on Monday, then life-flighted to Scottish Rite where he died.

The Cartersville Police Department said the teen was pronounced dead after being life-flighted to Children's Scottish Rite.

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Cartersville police investigating a shooting that left a 14-year-old boy dead. Officers say they responded to reports of a teenager being shot. The teen was taken to Cartersville Piedmont Hospital and was later life-flighted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - Scottish Rite where he was pronounced dead.

A juvenile was shot in Cartersville Monday, according to police. Police said the child was shot around 2:30 p.m. and taken to the hospital. The child has not been identified. Their condition is currently unknown.
