Multiple law enforcement sources have told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS a traffic stop at a convenience store located near Onamia late Saturday morning involved a vehicle which was carrying Boelter's wife, as well as three other relatives.
Boelter claimed to have a doctorate of education, and said he spent extensive time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa — where he was seen in videos apparently preaching on stage.
Authorities are investigating reports of "targeted shootings" in suburban Minneapolis in what Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said was an "ongoing situation." The shootings were in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, two neighboring cities about 10 miles from downtown Minneapolis, Walz said Saturday morning.
