Logan Evans' first major league stint came to an end on Wednesday after the Mariners activated reliever Jackson Kowar off the injured list.

Less than 24 hours after the best performance of his young pro career, Logan Evans was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma to make room for reliever Jackson Kowar.

Evans used a steady diet of fastballs to keep the vaunted San Diego Padres ' lineup of heavy hitters off-stride. It worked as the Mariners posted a 5-1 win over the Padres at Petco Park. The young Mariners' prospect was able to not only pitch well, but he's been listening closely to the MLB pitching staff.
