Across the U.S., there are 1,024 confirmed measles cases as of Friday. Texas still accounts for the vast majority of cases. There are three other major outbreaks in North America.

Texas health officials reported just one new measles case over the last week, an apparent signal the spread of the highly contagious illness has slowed in the state, after a slight uptick in cases was reported in dozens of other states.

Since the outbreak began in January in Gaines County, located in West Texas along the state border with New Mexico, 738 cases of measles have been confirmed.
