OpenAI recently shipped a major update to ChatGPT search, including a rich shopping experience, but it still faces a tough battle against Google and Microsoft.

OpenAI now lets users shop for products within ChatGPT, the latest move by the artificial intelligence startup to expand the reach of its popular chatbot and challenge rivals like Google.

OpenAI also announced that ChatGPT will now show a list of the day’s top trending searches, and like Google, will attempt to auto-complete queries as you’re writing them. The new update also brings improvements to citations, meaning ChatGPT can include multiple citations to back up its answers.
