Music executive Dave Shapiro, whose clients have included Sum 41, Dave Navarro, Hanson and Bush, was among the people killed in a plane crash in San Diego.

In the stillness of night, a quiet, tree-lined street in a San Diego neighborhood was plunged into chaos when a plane clipped a power line and crashed – turning cars into fireballs and sending residents fleeing in a haze of smoke and confusion.

A Cessna 550 crashed into a Murphy Canyon neighborhood just before 4 a.m. with an unknown number of people on board. Several home caught fire as an apparent result of the crash, leading to evacuations in the military housing neighborhood. Fire fighters are continuing to try to contain the blazes, with smoke visible from outside the neighborhood.
